A Little Space, Please

I don't know what Romy's deal is.  She started antibiotics two days ago for her first ear infection, and she's been working her way through a cold for over a week.  Because of these things, she is acting very attached to me.  Even while she should be sleeping.  Or maybe her ears hurt, so she can't sleep.  Or her stomach hurts, and she can't sleep.  Whatever it is, and because of it, I can't sleep either.  I also can't find the time to get any work done.  Here is a picture of me, taken this morning, making my way through my final pages of GET WELL SOON II: Electric Bookaloo:

Are there three million other places in the house she could be playing?  Damn skippy.  She could be enjoying her fabulous new digs:
But, so is motherhood.  And, yes, I did manage to finish my book.  Now, onto my final step of typing in all of my changes, and then it's off to my editor!  And for a little while, it won't matter if my daughter wakes me up or hovers as much as she does.  Which probably means she will be over those phases and on to following her dad around.  All the more time for me to catch up on crappy TV and my Deathly Hallows game.

Hope to see some of you at the Young Chicago Authors Holiday Book Bash tonight!  Information is in the side bar.  Happy Friday!

Oh, ho ho, do I feel you. Ninja girl has to sit by me all the time. And if her brother does? All hell breaks loose. *Sigh*

I don't get anything done either.

That play house is bitchin'

Maybe you should leave mail in her mailbox, that might distract her. :)

Natalie, I'm starting to feel a little crushed by this! We'll see how things change as she gets older. I have no idea how I'll write if we have a second. And Brian, I tried the mail slot, but she just threw the mail back out the door. I think her playhouse is the only place she doesn't want to leave crap all over.

I feel your pain. This has been happening to me for the past seven years. Nothing like having two kids that don't want anything to do with you until you are on a business call and then they are both standing in front of you screaming.

Oh my gosh-the last time I saw Romy was ALA in Chicago and she was a baby-I can't believe how big she is! And so adorable!! I hope she feels better so you can get some work done. And I'm amazed at all you do Julie-I don't have kids and when I read about awesome librarian/author/mom/wife like you, it makes me feel like I could actually do it too!

Yes, Sarah, she's growing fast! And, truthfully, I'm finding it harder and harder to be everything. Something may have to give soon. Big decisions ahead!
